Pittsburgh Pocket PC User
Group and Microsoft Corporation presented :
Microsoft
Mobile Tour 2001
This November 1 event marked the
1st Anniversary of the
Pittsburgh Pocket PC User Group. We had a great celebration and
timed it with the Microsoft Mobile Experience User Group Tour
which included demonstrations of almost all the available
Microsoft® Pocket PC 2002 Devices out and the even the upcoming
Microsoft "Stinger" smart phone solution, as well as the latest
in wireless and mobile technologies from Microsoft and their
partners.
Our own President (Earl Sarain) showcased Symbol's Compact
Flash 802.11b wireless technology by controlling the
introductory PowerPoint slide show wirelessly from his IPAQ as
he walked around the room...
And for added excitement, we had lots of cool give-aways for
folks who attend, including a variety of Microsoft products, and
of course a T-shirt for everyone who attends! The rumor turned
out true as we gave away not ONE
but TWO HP Pocket PC 2002
Devices along with a slew of software such as Money 2002,
Streets and Trips 2002 and Office XP !!!
Here are some photos from the event:
A special thanks goes out to the vendors (HP, AT&T Broadband
and Mapopolis) for their support at our event. (see them in
action below from left to right (HP / AT&T Broadband / Mapopolis)
